Biography

Hi! My name is Miss Braman or Miss Tami (to my students, I answer to either).  I moved to Medicine Hat six years ago from Alaska where I had been working on a Masters of Science in Outdoor and Environmental Education.  I grew up in Northern British Columbia and my experiences there, growing up in the country, have taught me a love for nature and the outdoors.  I taught upper elementary in British Columbia for 7 years before moving to Alaska and have enjoyed my time in multi-grade classrooms the most. My favourite past times are reading, singing, playing musical instruments, traveling, gardening, hiking, and discovering new and interesting areas to explore.  It is my desire to build in my students a love for God, for creativity and learning, and for nature, God’s second book.

Biography:

I am very excited to be teaching at Higher Ground this year! This will be my fifth year teaching in a multigrade setting. My favourite subjects to teach are science, English, art, and music. In our classroom, I want to equip my students with traits not only to help them in their future but also to cultivate an environment where they feel like they belong and show kindness to others. I also like to provide a classroom environment where the students can really interact and contribute to their learning. When I am not in the classroom I enjoy reading, crochet, being out in nature, and spending time with friends. I am grateful to have a support network of my family and friends to help me get through life.

Ephesians 2:8-10  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
